Very nice exhibits in Camping Disappointment. And I was very happy to see the collection of books Lewis and Clark had on their trip! (My own book collection has grown quite a bit on this trip.)
I was pleased to see a big deer grazing on the overgrown roof of the battalion next to the door of this building! Then walking through the exhibits, which showed the entire journey, was like walking through my own trip's history: St Louis, Sergeant Floyd's death and memorial, the Mandan village, Station Camp. Although I, of course, have not been going nearly as long as they did, it's definitely been a long process of planning and traveling!
Starting this afternoon I'm on vacation, tagging along with David as he bikes the remainder of the Adventure Cycling's Northern Tier route! I'm looking forward to it very much! Then I finish my research trip with the Montana and North Dakota libraries I did not get a chance to see on my way west. So there will still be more exciting things ahead!
