I'm having fun in the new tent! Bigger, and maybe more waterproof then our poor old tent - veteran of many, many trips, and storms. I like having my morning routine of oatmeal, with all my additives, applesauce, and V8 juice - easy to set up the night before, and quick in the morning.
This (Lewis and Clark Trail State Park ) was a more primitive campground, but nice. And generally any night spent in a tent is better than a hotel! I was near a highway, and under a flight path - but that's not a big deal at night. There was something running around the park last night, making noise. Sounded like a bird, though they are not usually too nocturnal - maybe a turkey? Didn't seem dangerous, just noisy.
Off to see more sights and more libraries!
EDITED: Just a note added here, that I talked with a park worker later and he told me it was an osprey making all the noise. Definitely interesting!
