This is my first trip to Portland, and it seems pretty good! I bought used books at Powell's, and grabbed dinner at Whole Foods, so I'm feeling appropriately immersed in the culture. (I even have a bike in the back of the Jeep, so I really fit in! It's David's bike, but I'm still feeling the pro-cyclists vibe!)
In a hotel tonight so I have access to my work email - wading through many days of backlog is not fun. But it's kind of novel to be inside with electricity and running water!
Not sure L&C would recognize the area today but Portland is a neat city. Plenty of library branches to choose from (and easy transit system!).
